Because of the incredible success of this project the efforts for user support and maintenance of all software versions have increased drastically. These efforts and along with them the great burden of responsibility for this project cannot be achieved and guaranteed by a single person anymore.

To not just stop the whole project but to ensure professional support and further improvements, other people joined the team who couldn't work on a honorary basis. Therefore came the need to switch this pure freeware into a real commercial product.

SiDiary's team tried to provide a way on the middle of the road: The current release version 4 will stay as a freeware for everyone. If you want to support this project and to enjoy the fantastic new features you need to obtain a license for version 5 with a favorable price. Please find further opinions in SiDiary's internal section in the forum.


How to continue?

First of July 2005 will be the release date of the new version 5. This version will be provided by SINOVO Ltd. & Co. KG. SiDiary 5 has finally made it's way through a hard and pretty long beta test phase for several months. With this tests the application has already proven it's stableness and it's everyday life suitability. These test activities especially with that large number of testing people and with this long period indicates our own requirements for a high quality product.

Now every user has to obtain a license for SiDiary version 5. We still want to meet the requirement that our software package can be used by as many people as possible and that the license fee should not become an obstacle. We will establish a license model with fees as small as possible. This model offers the opportunity for you to chose exactly that functionality you need to work with: If you just need a single version, i.e for windows computers or smartphones you can obtain such single license. If you need also a blood glucose meter driver or want to also use a mobile device together with your windows version, you can select from various bundles with special prices. So you don't need to pay for things you don't want to use.

The download is still free without any charge. You can install this package on your system and will have a fully functional copy of all software packages for a 30 days trial period. You can check all details of the software before you need to obtain the valid license keys, which will be provided by the new SINOVO online-shop (starting at 1st of July) or at selected software sites.

I always tried to provide help for all of your questions and to build improvements with your feedback. Also SINOVO will answer your questions, provide help and will listen to your feedback about possible improvements as I did for the last 18 months! Our motto will be "we care for you" - this is more than just an ad!

Finally I want to say thank you to all helping hands who have made this project to what it means to many diabetics today: An essential tool which helps optimizing your diabetes treatment and which helps to make your daily life with diabetes just a bit easier.
