SiDiary 6 and iPhone
Of course we want to make SiDiary available on the iPhone too. But we don’t want to develop something 'quick', because quality is our first priority.
So in a first step through the developing phase of SiDiary 6 we have enhanced the ability to use SiDiary Online on the iPhone. That means exactly:
- SiDiary recognizes that you’re working with a mobile browser and adjusts the screen resolution automatically. So the user doesn't have to scroll horizontal nor have to zoom in.
- All data can be entered comfortable in a single mask (single data mask).
- Additionally the login with username and password has been simplified: on mobile devices SiDiary offers the ability to save the login in a cookie. So you just need to use you bookmark and won't be bothered with the login process.
SiDiary 6 is finished now (for PC, the online version and the mobile versions for Pocket PC, Smartphone and java based cell phones) and we've started the
developing of the iPhone App without right away. It’s clear that this cannot be done in a short time, if we want to keep our usual 'SiDiary Quality'.
(How should it look like? Which functions should it have? How to fit the functions to the genius iPhone usability?)
So as an intermediate step we have build an import driver for the CSV file, which can be generated with the App 'Diamedic'. That means if you don't want to
use SiDiary Online you can export the data which you have collected with Diamedic into a CSV file and then read it with the PC version of SiDiary. (To analyze
data, add other data, print data, etc.).
Of course the developing of our own App still continues and so we want to show you a sneak preview of our alpha-version. On this picture you can see the
SiDiary-typical grid view. With a finger touch a specific column has been highlighted and with the iPhone-common touch moves you can scroll to other columns
of the current day.
