Connect your blood glucose meter to USB-Port

New desktop-computers don't have serial com ports any more. Unfortunately not all manufacturers of blood glucose meters are providing USB interface cables so that you need to use a generic USB-To-Com-Adapter for use with the standard comm-port-cable.
